A little tea. Plenty of moments.

At 3 grams per fresh serving, a 3 oz bag lasts about four weeks for one daily serving, or two weeks for two. These rounded estimates use an 85-gram bag and a new portion of tea each time.

Three ounces is approximately 85 grams of dry tea, not three fluid ounces of brewed tea. Cup size, tea type and preferred strength affect the dose. Follow the individual tea's preparation guide rather than using one recipe for every tea.

Make it personal

How long will your tea last?

Enter the weight of tea you use for each fresh serving and how many new servings you prepare per day for the household.

Re-steeping the same leaves uses no extra tea from the bag. If you make two cups from one portion of leaves, count one fresh serving, not two.

Use your tea's recommended dose. Count new portions of leaves or powder, not additional steeps of the same leaves. For a pot, use the dose for the whole pot.

One fresh serving each day

About 28 days at 3 grams.

Several of our teas, including Hibiscus Berry Tea, use a 3 g dose per 12-ounce serving. Earl Grey uses 2.5 g per 12 ounces, while Chamomile Ginger uses 2 g per 12 ounces. Your tea's own directions give you the right starting point.

The simple breakdown

  • Your bag: approximately 85 g of tea.
  • Your daily dose: 3 g for one fresh serving.
  • Your estimate: 85 ÷ 3 = 28.3 days.

At 2.5 g per day, the same bag lasts about 34 days. At 2 g per day, it lasts about 42–43 days. These are usage estimates, not freshness guarantees.

More than one way to enjoy your tea

Fresh leaves or another steep?

Some loose-leaf teas suit multiple infusions. Jasmine, for example, is good for multiple steepings. If the flavor still appeals to you, another steep of the same leaves can add a cup without taking more tea from the bag.

Powdered teas such as matcha and hojicha powder are mixed into the drink rather than strained out. Count each new portion of powder as a fresh serving.

For an iced pitcher or a shared pot, weigh the total tea used for the batch. A 6 g pot every day uses the same amount from the bag as two separate 3 g servings.
