Your coffee profile
Medium-dark roast
A deeper roast style for a rich, rounded cup with plenty of flavor.
Explore this coffee profileWho will love this cup?
For coffee lovers who enjoy fuller flavor and deep sweetness with a little more roast character than a medium roast.
It also belongs to our espresso selection, a good place to start for shots, lattes and cappuccinos.
Why this roast profile works
The medium-dark roast suits a richer, more rounded cup. Try French press for body, or a paper filter when you prefer a cleaner texture.

Brewing suggestions
Start here, then adjust to your taste. Follow any preparation directions on your package first.
- Best brew method
- Espresso for a concentrated cup or a milk drink. A paper-filtered pour-over is a good alternative for a lighter brew.
- Grind recommendations
- Medium for drip, medium-fine for pour-over, coarse for French press, and fine for espresso. Choose a matching pre-ground option or grind whole beans just before brewing.
- Water ratio
- For espresso, start with 18 g of coffee and aim for 36 g in the cup, a 1:2 ratio. For filter coffee, start with 20 g of coffee to 320 g of water, a 1:16 ratio.
- Flavor expectations by brew style
- Paper-filtered pour-over: a cleaner cup with more distinct tasting notes. French press: fuller body and a richer texture. Espresso: concentrated flavor that holds up in milk. Use the tasting notes above as a guide; your recipe changes how they come through.
